The Rising Stars of Itanagar
Born in 1988, Likha Nari Tadar, the BJP's mayoral candidate, hails from Keyi Panyor district and holds a BA degree from MGU, Meghalaya. Having been associated with the BJP since 2012, Tadar won the corporator election from Ward 16, defeating her rival from the LJP. As the first female mayor of IMC, Tadar has pledged to focus on cleanliness and basic civic services, aiming to create a strong sense of belonging towards Itanagar.
Tok Tabin Camdir, the BJP's deputy mayor candidate, won the corporator election from Ward 19 uncontested. A native of Lekhi village, Camdir holds a BA degree and has previously served as general secretary of the Nirjuli Market Committee. Currently, he is a joint secretary of the Arunachal Chamber of Commerce and Industries.
Pasighat Municipal Council: A Historical First for the PPA
In the Pasighat Municipal Council, the PPA has nominated Tagom Padung as chief councillor and Kamin Lego as deputy chief councillor. The party won five of the total eight councillor seats, marking a significant achievement as the first regional party to govern a municipal body in Arunachal Pradesh.
