A Nationwide Struggle for Rural Employment Rights
In a significant move, the Indian National Congress has launched a 45-day nationwide campaign, MGNREGA Bachao Sangram, to protect the rural employment law from being repealed. Chaupals, Sit-ins, and Gheraos
From the 12th to the 29th of January, chaupals and mass contact programs will be organized at all gram panchayats. This will be followed by ward-level peaceful sit-ins on the 30th of January to press for the right to work. From the 7th to the 15th of February, state-level gheraos of vidhan sabhas will be organized, while four major rallies will be held between the 16th and 25th of February before the culmination of the nationwide movement.
