Arunachal Para Athletes Prepare for National Championship: A Step Towards Inclusive Sports
In a significant stride for the Paralympic movement in Arunachal Pradesh, four para athletes have been chosen to represent the state at the Senior and Junior National Para Powerlifting Championship 2026. Hailing from various districts, these athletes are poised to showcase their strength and determination in Uttarakhand from 16 to 18 January.

The selected athletes are Tarh Rade (-72 kg), Bale Labung (-49 kg), Taj Richo (-55 kg), and Amak Wangsa (-55 kg). Each athlete has been assigned a weight category based on their physical condition, and they will compete against other para powerlifters from across the nation.

Nich Tel is the team manager, ensuring the smooth functioning and well-being of the athletes during the competition. Tana Bunu has been appointed as the escort, responsible for the safe travel of the team to Dehradun, where the championship will take place.
