Naga Forum Concerned Over Factional Violence in Eastern Homeland
The Global Naga Forum (GNF) has expressed deep sorrow and grave concern over recent factional violence between NSCN (Angmai Mulatonu) and NSCN (Yung Aung) in the eastern part of the Naga homeland in Myanmar. This conflict, which has resulted in the loss of Naga lives, has been a cause for concern for the GNF.

The GNF described the killing of Nagas by Nagas as a tragedy that cannot be justified under any circumstance, regardless of provocation or retaliation. The GNF stated that every bullet fired at another Naga tears the moral fabric of Naga society. In view of the deteriorating security situation, GNF has announced the cancellation of its planned visit to the Naga New Year celebration at Layshi town. The forum strongly called for an immediate cessation of violence among Naga groups and appealed to all Naga groups in the eastern part of Naga homeland to exercise restraint and act with a sense of responsibility.
