Fraud Alert: Karnataka Residents Charged for MBBS Admission Scam

The Economic Offences Wing (EOW) of Crime Branch Kashmir launched an investigation following a complaint by the victim, who alleged that Dr Shamsu-Din, working at Al-Amin Medical College, Bijapur, Karnataka, had promised to secure MBBS admission for his son through the accused, Aquib Javeed.
In a criminal conspiracy with his brother Mohd Ahtesham Ahmad, Aquib Javeed cheated the complainant by falsely promising admission to his son in KBN Medical College, Bijapur. Despite receiving the money, the accused failed to secure the admission and did not return the funds.

A charge sheet has been filed against the accused under Sections 420 and 120-B of the Indian Penal Code before the Court of Sub-Judge, Baramulla. The investigation established offenses punishable under these sections, and the charge sheet has been submitted before the court in absentia by initiating proceedings under Section 512 of the Criminal Procedure Code.
