The presence of faecal coliform and faecal streptococci indicated severe pollution.
Lack of Adequate Action
The NGT expressed concern over the Assam State Wetlands Authority's response, which it deemed insufficient in addressing the violations outlined in the pollution control boards' reports. The response was described as lacking substantive details.
