Organized by the State Blood Cell, National Health Mission (NHM), Manipur, in collaboration with the Federation of Indian Blood Donor Organisations (FIBDO), Manipur State Chapter, the event aimed to address the challenges in blood transfusion services and map out a comprehensive future roadmap for voluntary blood donation and transfusion services in the state.

Biswaroop Biswas, National President of FIBDO, expressed optimism about achieving full voluntary blood donation in Manipur in the near future, thanks to the collaboration of all organizations, including NHM and the State Blood Cell. He announced an ambitious target to increase Manipur's voluntary blood donation rate from the current 30 percent to 60 percent within the next year.
Dr. N. Hemantakumar Singh, Director of State Health Services, Manipur, emphasized the crucial role of blood banks in advancing healthcare services and the importance of forward-thinking in healthcare, particularly in light of advancements in artificial intelligence. He stressed that while technology is evolving rapidly, there remains no substitute for human blood, making voluntary blood donation essential for saving lives.
