One of the notable initiatives, North Eastern Region Agri-Commodity E-Connect (NERACE), has bridged the gap between buyers and sellers in the North East. Launched by NERAMAC in July 2024, this digital platform has facilitated crores of rupees worth of business by securing better prices for the producers of agriculture and horticulture products in the region.
Promoting Artisans and Weavers
Another significant initiative, Purbashree Emporia, launched by NEHHDC, functions as a retail shop, procuring handicrafts and handlooms from artisans and weavers across the North East. The artisans and weavers gain exposure through national and international trade fairs organized by NEHHDC, enhancing their visibility.
Financial Inclusion for Entrepreneurs
NEDFi, another central agency, has disbursed crores of rupees in assistance to entrepreneurs in Meghalaya, Tripura, and Sikkim. The agency aims to excel in customer service delivery through dedicated employees and has helped artisans, weavers, and entrepreneurs in the North East by providing financial assistance for various projects.
