Protest Against Republic Day in Manipur

CorCom, an apex body of six banned insurgent groups in Manipur, has appealed to the public to stay indoors and avoid participating in Republic Day celebrations. The group described the Indian Republic Day as a "colonial reconsolidation day for Manipur (Kangleipak)."
SOREPA's Stand
In addition, the outlawed Socialist Revolutionary Party (SOREPA), Kangleipak, announced a boycott of Republic Day celebrations in the state. SOREPA also expressed support for boycotts, shutdowns, and general strikes in Western South East Asia (WESEA), Kashmir, Khalistan, and Manipur on the same day.
