Rising Concerns over Flesh Trade in Manipur
The People's Revolutionary Party of Kangleipak (PREPAK), a proscribed outfit in Manipur, has expressed serious concern over an alleged rise in flesh trade within the state. According to a press statement issued by Mangal Khuman, Publicity Officer of PREPAK, the outfit's internal investigation has revealed the involvement of a group of individuals in the trafficking of young girls and married women for sexual exploitation.
Alleged Perpetrators Named
The statement named several individuals, including Thingbaijam Thoihenba alias Ibungo Singh, Sundari of Irom Meijao Mamang Leikai, Rebiya Leimapokpam, and Tektek alias Juliya, as those allegedly involved in these activities.
Incident at Irom Meijao Maning Leikai
One such alleged activity was reported to have taken place at Mantripukhri. On 18th January 2026, local club members caught Thingbaijam Thoihenba alias Ibungo Singh and Rebiya Leimapokpam allegedly engaging in immoral activities inside a white Maruti Swift vehicle at Irom Meijao Maning Leikai.
PREPAK's Warning and Call for Action
PREPAK has warned the named individuals to surrender to the outfit by 31st January 2026, failing which they will face severe punishment. The outfit also calls upon women and community elders to remain vigilant and take a stronger role in protecting social values.
