Good Governance Week: A Transformative Initiative in Bishnupur, Northeast India
In the spirit of fostering effective governance and improving service delivery, the District Administration of Bishnupur organized a public grievance redressal camp as part of Good Governance Week. This event, held on December 24, 2025, at the Panchayat Resource Centre (PRC) Hall in Bishnupur, aimed to bring development closer to the people and address the concerns of citizens from various parts of the district.

A total of 13 line departments, including Health, Education, CAF & PD, District Child Protection Unit (DCPU), Social Welfare, and others, set up stalls to address public grievances. Citizens took advantage of this opportunity to raise queries related to various government schemes and the procedures to avail them.

Deputy Commissioner of Bishnupur, Pooja Elangbam, emphasized the importance of Good Governance Week, stating that such initiatives are a transformational effort aimed at bringing effective governance closer to the people and improving service delivery. Later in the day, a district-level workshop on Good Governance was held at the Conference Hall of the Mini Secretariat Complex, Bishnupur. Addressing the workshop, Additional Deputy Commissioner Toijam Opendro highlighted the significance of Good Governance Week, stating that it aims to reinforce transparency, accountability, and citizen-centric service delivery.
