Acknowledging Farmers' Contributions
The celebration of National Farmers Day is a nationwide event held annually on the birth anniversary of Chaudhary Charan Singh, the 5th Prime Minister of India, to honor farmers for their role in nation-building. The event in Heirok was attended by several dignitaries, including Dr Thokchom Robindro Singh, former Deputy Director of the Extension Department at the Central Agricultural University, and Nameirakpam Sunil Singh, Deputy Director of the Department of Horticulture, Manipur.
Addressing Challenges and Embracing Modern Farming

He stressed the need for proper planning, timely decisions, efficient resource use, and wider adoption of scientific and sustainable farming methods.
Empowering the Community through Prem Dhara
Prem Dhara, the organization behind the seed distribution, was established in memory of late Khundrakpam Ongbi Nungshi Devi with the objective of serving society through welfare initiatives. The organization's Trustee, Thokchom Ibohal Singh, spoke about the organization's mission and upcoming activities, including monthly assistance to elderly widows and skill development programmes for youth and women.
