The organizational issues began when teams were asked to vacate their rooms due to unpaid rent. Hostels and lodges where teams were initially accommodated refused to extend their stay, as the organizers had not settled the outstanding payments.
A Night of Discomfort
On a freezing winter night, several teams were forced to move their belongings in the middle of the night to a new accommodation at the Gautam Buddha University. A state team coach expressed his dismay, stating, "Is this the way to organize a National Championships?"
Another team manager shared his experience, saying, "We have left the official accommodation and rented another place. The boxers too are shifting to some other place."
BFI's Response and Financial Issues
The Boxing Federation of India (BFI) acknowledged the issue and took immediate steps to ensure that affected athletes were accommodated at the nearest facility at GB University. However, a BFI official revealed that the Sports Authority of India (SAI) had not released the sanctioned funds for the tournament, leading to the financial issues.
