Listening Activity: A Window into Your Friends' Music Taste
Listening Activity, an opt-in feature, allows users to display what they are listening to inside Messages in real time. If you're not actively listening, your most recent song will be shown instead. This feature is visible only to friends and family you've already connected with inside Messages on Spotify.
To turn on Listening Activity, users need to navigate to the Privacy and social settings inside the Spotify app. Once enabled, activity appears in the chat row of the side drawer and at the top of chats in Messages.
Request to Jam: A Step Closer to Synchronous Music Enjoyment
Request to Jam is a new way for users to invite friends they've connected with in Messages to join a live listening session. This feature allows users to see when someone is already listening, join them, and message in sync while listening.
To initiate a Request to Jam, Premium users can tap Jam in the top right corner of a Messages chat in Spotify. If the request is accepted, the recipient of the request becomes the host of the Jam session, and both users can add tracks to a shared queue and listen together.
