Introducing the Mijia Smart Audio Glasses

At a recent European launch event, Xiaomi unveiled its latest smart wearable device, the Mijia Smart Audio Glasses. These glasses, disguised as regular eyewear, are packed with innovative features that make them stand out.

  • Dual speakers and quad microphones, allowing for wireless audio and smart functionalities.
  • Touch-sensitive areas on the temples for adjusting playback, volume, accessing voice assistants, and managing calls.
  • Real-time recording for calls and meetings, accessible via a press-and-hold gesture on the temple.
  • Wind noise reduction and privacy mode to minimize sound leakage.

Design and Specifications

The Mijia Smart Audio Glasses come in three designs: Brownline, Pilot-Style, and Titanium, with all versions boasting IP54 ingress protection. The lightest option, the Titanium, weighs just over 27 grams (excluding lenses), while the temples on all three are 5mm thick.

The glasses pair over Bluetooth 5.4 and support dual-device connectivity. They are equipped with dual 114 mAh batteries, offering up to 13 hours of continuous listening and up to 9 hours of call time on a single charge.

Redmi Buds 8 Lite: Affordable Wireless Earbuds

In addition to the Mijia Smart Audio Glasses, Xiaomi also introduced the Redmi Buds 8 Lite, the latest budget wireless earbuds in the Redmi lineup.

  • 12.4mm titanium-diaphragm drivers for improved sound quality.
  • Bluetooth 5.4 with dual device pairing and support for AAC and SBC audio codecs.
  • Hybrid active noise cancellation (ANC), rated at up to 42dB noise canceling with dedicated wind-noise and call noise reduction.
  • Battery life of 8 hours from the buds, extending to 36 hours via the charging case.

Relevance to Northeast India and the Broader Indian Context

The launch of these smart wearables by Xiaomi signifies the growing demand for affordable and innovative technology solutions, a trend that is also visible in Northeast India. As more tech companies enter the Indian market, consumers in the region can expect a wider variety of options for their smart devices.

Looking Ahead

With the introduction of the Mijia Smart Audio Glasses and Redmi Buds 8 Lite, Xiaomi continues to push the boundaries of smart wearable technology. As these devices become more accessible and affordable, it will be interesting to see how they impact the way people interact with their devices and each other.
