Waymo Expands Autonomous Rides in Miami: Implications for Northeast India and Beyond

In a significant stride towards autonomous transportation, Waymo, a subsidiary of Alphabet Inc., has announced the launch of its driverless ride-hailing service in Miami. Starting January 22, 2026, residents of Miami on Waymo's waitlist can hail driverless vehicles for trips within a 60-square-mile service area. The company plans to expand to faster-speed roads later in the year.

Partnership with Moove

Waymo's fleet of driverless vehicles in Miami will be managed by Moove, a fleet services and financial products provider for mobility companies. Based in Africa, Moove is backed by Uber and recently secured a valuation of $750 million.
