Exploring Microservices Architecture with Spring Boot: A Comprehensive Workshop for Backend Developers
The Rise of Microservices Architecture
Microservices architecture has been gaining traction in the tech industry, offering numerous benefits such as scalability, resilience, and flexibility. This approach divides a single application into multiple smaller, loosely coupled services, each responsible for a specific business functionality.
In the North East region of India, as well as in the broader Indian context, there has been a growing interest in adopting microservices architecture. Many organizations are seeking ways to modernize their systems and improve their software development practices, and microservices architecture could be a key part of this transformation.
Upcoming Workshop: Mergulho Microsservios Spring
To help developers deepen their understanding of microservices architecture using Spring Boot, AlgaWorks is organizing a free online workshop called Mergulho Microsservios Spring. The event will take place from January 12 to 19, 2026.
Agenda:
- Aula 01: Arquitetura de Microsservios e DDD (12/01)
- Aula 02: Design Tcnico e Comunicao REST (14/01)
- Aula 03: Event-Driven com Kafka e padres de microsservios (15/01)
- Aula 04: Prximos nveis da especializao (Warm-up e nivelamento) (16/01)
The workshop covers fundamental concepts as well as advanced practices, making it suitable for both those who are already working with Spring and those who want to expand their knowledge in the field of microservices architecture.
Preparation and Requirements
Before the official start of the workshop, AlgaWorks has released a warm-up, which includes videos on setting up the development environment, as well as videos on Docker, Spring Boot, and REST. This preparation can make a significant difference, ensuring that participants follow the more dense content on architecture and service communication more easily.
Why Dive into Microservices?
Working with microservices involves making important decisions about synchronous vs asynchronous communication, data consistency, scalability, observability, resilience, and distributed failures. The proposed workshop seems to address these exact points, focusing on implementation with Spring, but also offering architectural insights, which is essential for anyone aiming to evolve as a backend developer.
