Unlocking the Hidden Job Search Hack on LinkedIn

Unlocking the Hidden Job Search Hack on LinkedIn

The Ridiculous Secret LinkedIn Hides: A Fresh Job Search

In the bustling world of job hunting, every edge counts. Recently, a little-known secret about LinkedIn's job search function has come to light, shedding new light on how to navigate the platform more effectively.

It turns out that LinkedIn's job search, despite the Past 24 hours filter, does not exclusively show fresh listings. Instead, it mixes in older jobs, reposts, and listings with hundreds of applicants.

The solution? A hidden time filter in the URL that LinkedIn doesn't expose in its user interface. This parameter, called f_TPR, filters by seconds since a job was posted.

How to Use the Hidden Job Search Filter

To bias your feed towards the newest listings and significantly reduce older/reposted jobs, simply add &f_TPR=r60 to your job search URL. For example:

  https://www.linkedin.com/jobs/search/?keywords=frontend%20developer

Becomes:

  https://www.linkedin.com/jobs/search/?keywords=frontend%20developer&f_TPR=r60

Does It Work?

After testing this trick for a few days, the results were noticeable. There were fewer listings, almost zero reposted jobs, more cases where the applicant was among the first, fewer 500 applicants nightmares, and fewer situations where the job was already a popular choice.

The Frustration of the Hidden Filter

What's frustrating is that LinkedIn already has this functionality, but it doesn't expose it in the user interface. As a result, most people have no idea they're not actually seeing fresh jobs, leading to a misconception that they're early when they're actually applicant #347.

Implications for Job Hunters in North East India and Beyond

For job seekers in North East India and across India, this hidden hack can make the job search process more intentional and less like shouting into the void. By applying this filter, job seekers can focus their efforts on newer, less crowded listings, potentially improving their chances of landing their dream job.

Moving Forward

While this hack doesn't magically fix the job market, it's a small but significant step towards making the process more manageable. So, the next time you're job hunting, give it a try and see the difference it can make.
